It symbolizes the Ratha of Lord Surya turning towards the Nothern Hemisphere drawn by seven Horses in north east direction.Rath Saptami is also Known as Surya Jayanti and celebrated as Surya Birthday. The main aim to worship Lord Sun is to gain powers, energy and light from him. It is also beleievd that from the day of RATHA Saptami there is a gradual increase in Temperature transversely in South India and spring is awaited.It is also recommended that to please Lord Surya Chant Aditya Hridayam and perform Surya Namaskar early in the Morning. Lord Surya will Praise you with Good Health, Wealth and removes all obstacle from Life.
