Jaya Ekadashi is the eleventh day of Magh month according to Hindu Calender. It comes in Shukl Paksh during waxing phase of Moon. It is also known as Bhishma Ekadashi or Bheesma Ekadashi celebrated mostly in Krnataka, Andra Pradesh. As Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, people keep fast on this day and worship Lord Vishnu. Acoording to Padma Purana while keeping Fast on Jaya Ekadashi you will earn immence blessings from Lord Vishnu. Your all desires will get fulfilled, all sins from your life will get destructed, you will always progress in your Life.
By worshipping Lord Vishnu on Jaya Ekadashi you will be free from sins and demonic influences affecting the spirit soul. It is believed that while keeping Fast on Jaya ekadashi you may reside in vaikunth and enjoy never ending happiness for billions of Yugs. People keep fast the whole day either full or partial asceticism from food. Devotees didn’t sleep at night and do Jaagran all night by visiting Lord Vishnu Temples and singing hymns and listening to stories of Jaya Ekadashi. The Fast is broken next Morning after bathing and worshipping Lord Vishnu by doing prayer and lighting lamp.
