Chaturthi is also known as Chauth in Hindu religion. Chaturthi falls twice in each lunar month of Hindu calendar. Each Hindu month has two Chaturthi tithi. Sankashti Chaturthi occurs after Purnima or full moon during Krishna Paksha (Dark Fortnight), while Vinayaka Chaturthi falls after Amavasya or new moon during Shukla Paksha (Bright Fortnight). Sankashti Chaturthi is also known as Angarki Chaturthi. Chauth fasting is very significant in Hindu religion. Chaturthi is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Ganesha Chaturthi and Karwa Chauth are very popular Chaturthi tithi.
